Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This Sunday we finish our Gospel reading from John 6 and hear Peter’s wonderful confession of faith: “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” As impetuous as Peter can be at times, he chooses to remain with the Lord even after hearing Jesus give a teaching that the rest of the crowds could not accept. So many of the Lord’s words are rejected by the world we live in and we may often feel ourselves pulled between the crowd of the world and Jesus himself. This is a good Sunday to pray that we might be given the faith to cling to Jesus, even when His teaching may be hard or difficult, and believe that He alone has the words of everlasting life.
Our prayers are with all of our returning students this week as the majority of them begin another school year. Here at OLPH our Pre-K through 8th grade students are blessed to begin the new year with wonderful and incredibly dedicated, loving teachers, under the leadership of our amazing new principal Mr. Vic Pellechia. We’re looking forward to a great year where faith, academics and love come together in one great school!
Please join us for our upcoming OLPH Family Dinner Night on Friday, Sept. 7 from 5-8pm! We’ve got a great meal planned and a wonderful night in store, so please plan on joining us. God bless you all!
