Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Although we have now moved back into Ordinary Time, this celebration can be seen as a complement to all that we celebrated during the Easter Season, for the work of our salvation was the fruit of the Father’s gift of the Son, who came to suffer, die and be raised up in the power of the Spirit. So we are reminded this Sunday that the whole of our salvation is the work not of one divine person, but of three: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In their communion of love, the Trinity gives themselves away to us in order that we might be saved. How amazing this is, that God values and treasures us enough to put us ahead of even Himself! Even more amazing, each of us is called to share in and participate in the divine life of God, sharing in their communion of love. What an incredible call we have received! We pray this Sunday that the truth of this Good News might penetrate our hearts more deeply and change the way we live, as we try to respond ever more fully to the Lord’s great love for us.
I hope you are planning on joining us for our annual Parish Picnic on Sunday, June 10 beginning at 6pm. Again this year we’ll have great food, wonderful games and activities for the kids, softball, and just time to relax with friends and family. Please join us and make sure you RSVP on the parish website or in the narthex of the church.
Have a very blessed week!
